Dr. Joseph Adams Bodensteiner, age 78 of Rhinelander, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020, at Abbot Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. He was born April 21, 1942, in Decorah, Iowa to Leonard (LJ) and Helen (Adams) Bodensteiner.
After college and earning his medical degree, Joe served two years as a Captain in the Air Force, stationed at Hakata Base, Kyushu, Japan.
He is survived by his wife, Emily (Homstad) Bodensteiner; brother, John Bodensteiner (Donna Berge); brother-in-law, Wayne Homstad (Alice Falk); children, Karin (Mark Emerson), Kirsten (Marco Bavera), and Ingrid (Craig Dumar); eight grandchildren.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Kiran Bessire. Services will be held at a later date. (Carlson Funeral Home)
