Carl A. Weidling, age 100 of Sugar Camp, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2020. He was born March 12, 1920, in Chicago to Julius and Johanna (Scharlach) Weidling.
Carl was drafted into the Navy in 1944, serving as a machinist’s mate on the USS Sarasota in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He is survived by his children, Mark Weidling (Beryl) of Glenview, Ill., and Patricia Stolar of Sugar Camp; one grandson; five great-grandchildren; and his devoted friend, Roberta Sullivan.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; and son-in-law, Doug Stolar. Services will be held at a later date. Carl’s remains will be laid to rest in Skokie, Ill., at the Memorial Park Cemetery. (Carlson Funeral Home)
