An Eagle River brother and sister are free on signature bonds after being charged in Oneida County court with defrauding an elderly woman out of more than $16,000. Trevor J. Squiller, 23, and Kimberli J. Squiller, 25, face multiple forgery and fraudulent credit card use charges in Oneida and Vilas Counties.
According to a criminal complaint, the victim was being cared for by the mother of the two suspects. The fraud reportedly took place between April, 2015 and June, 2015 in the city of Rhinelander.
A Vilas County Sheriff’s Office report indicates Trevor Squiller forged 37 checks and fraudulently used the victim’s credit card 43 times, for a total theft of just over $16,000. According to the same report, Kimberli Squiller fraudulently used a credit card 27 times with a total theft of $2,363.
Trevor has been released on a $10,000 signature bond. His sister is released on a $3,500 signature bond. They are both scheduled to appear in court April 5. Forgery carries a $10,000 fine, up to six years in prison or both. Conviction of fraudulent use of a credit card can bring a $10,000 fine, nine months in prison or both.
