Local voters encouraged to use online voter guide

Posted

The League of Women Voters of the Northwoods is encouraging voters to prepare now for the April 7 election, which includes nonpartisan races for State Supreme Court, as well as county board supervisor and school board positions.
Northwoods voters can use VOTE411.org to learn about the candidates on their ballot, compare responses, and find information about where and how to vote.
To help voters learn about the candidates, the League offers its nonpartisan voter guide at VOTE411.org, where voters can review candidate responses and compare positions. The guide went live on March 23.
“VOTE411.org is a convenient and valuable nonpartisan resource for voters seeking reliable information about voting in Wisconsin,” said Jane Banning, past president of the League of Women Voters of the Northwoods. “Tens of thousands of voters across the state rely on it for unbiased candidate information, including many young and first-time voters.”
LWV Northwoods invited all candidates running for county board supervisor in Oneida, Lincoln, and Vilas counties, and school board candidates in Rhinelander, Lakeland Union, Three Lakes, Northland Pines, Tomahawk, and Merrill, to participate in the guide.

“We know voters are busy, and planning ahead helps ensure participation in our democracy,” said Eileen Newcomer, Voter Education Coordinator for the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin. “We encourage voters to make a plan, visit VOTE411.org, and remind others about Election Day on April 7.”
The League of Women Voters of the Northwoods is a nonpartisan organization that encourages informed and active participation in government. The League serves Forest, Florence, Lincoln, Langlade, Oneida, and Vilas counties. More information is available at lwvnow.org.
