ONEIDA COUNTY – The races have been set for several spring elections. All 21 seats on the Oneida County Board of Supervisors are on the ballot in 2022. Of those races, 14 are contested. Five incumbents are not running for reelection, including board chair Dave Hintz. Eleven women are vying for a seat on the County Board which is currently made up entirely of men.
There will be a primary election Feb. 15 to narrow the Rhinelander Mayoral race from three to two. Rhinelander City Clerk Theresa Lassig reported that Kris Hanus, Steve Sauer and Bill Freudenberg met the requirements to appear on the ballot. Mayor Chris Frederickson announced recently he will not seek a second term.
Voters in Rhinelander districts 2, 4, 6 and 8 will be electing an alderperson April 5. District 4 incumbent Tom Kelly and District 5 incumbent David Holt have filed papers to run for another term. District 2 alder Andrew Larson and District 8 alder and current council president Ryan Rossing have both filed declarations of noncandidacy. No one filed paperwork to run in those districts.
The School District of Rhinelander Board of Education has three incumbents, Mary Peterson, Judy Conlin and Ron Lueneburg and newcomer Brett Petrick running for three seats.
