Lions continue Community Christmas Dinner tradition

Posted

RHINELANDER – The Rhinelander Lions Club is continuing its  nearly 40-year tradition of serving a free Community Christmas Dinner this Saturday.

Because of COVID-19, the Lions and community volunteers will be distributing the dinners for pick up or delivery only, from noon-1:30 p.m. Pick up is at the deli entrance at Trig's in Rhinelander. For home delivery, call Randy or Linda at 715-420-0523 before Friday, Dec. 24.

The Community Dinner idea was borrowed from the Marshfield Lions in 1984 and it was served at the Fenlon Hotel because the owner was a Lion.

The Lions Club dinner is made possible by contributions of goods and services, including Trig's for the turkey preparation, and the local businesses and friends who support the annual Christmas dinner with money, labor and materials. Contributions can be sent to Rhinelander Lions Club, P.O. Box 1005, Rhinelander, WI 54501.
