Cash bond has been set at $100,000 for a Merrill man charged with several felonies in connection with a Lincoln County house fire Thursday morning.
Aaron Baumann is charged with arson and attempted arson, first degree reckless injury, first degree recklessly endangering safety, manufacturing/deliver THC and possession of drug paraphernalia – all as a repeater.
In investigating what they call a suspicious house fire reported shortly after 5 a.m. Aug. 19, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office found that an exterior wall of the home was on fire as well as other small fires around the yard. While they attempted to put out the fire they saw an unknown male subject reportedly attempting to start the homeowner's vehicle on fire, and then flee on foot.
K9 Nina and her handler reportedly tracked Baumann to his home where he was later taken into custody.
Baumann will next be in court Sept. 30.
