A former priest and convicted sex offender will be released to Lincoln County June 19. David Malsch, 80, was convicted of child enticement in 1993 in Marathon County and in 2005 he was convicted in a Missouri federal court to be in receipt of child pornography.
Malsch will be residing at N4883A Lilac Lane in Gleason while on Intensive Supervision. He will be monitored using a GPS and will be required to register with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Program for life.
According to a press release from Lincoln County, while acting as a priest and counselor, Malsch photographed minor males engaged in sexually explicit positions, sexually assaulted minor males and groomed the minor males by providing the alcohol, clothing, jewelry and invitations for overnight stays. While in Missouri, Malsch received and sent sexually explicit photographs of minor males.
According to the website, http://www.bishopaccountability.org, Malsch was a priest at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rhinelander 1984-1986, and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tomahawk from 1986 until approximately 1991.
