JWMS supports ailing student

Posted

James Williams Middle School students and staff gathered last week for a second-semester Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) kickoff.  It didn’t take long for evidence of positive behavior to become obvious, as one eighth grade student and his family were presented with a check of nearly $2,000.

Bobby Towne is battling Wilson’s disease and needs a liver transplant. The money, raised by the PAC, staff at students during a Penny War, t-shirt sale, "Wear a Hat at School" days and the  PAC pitched in proceeds from selling popcorn.

The Towne family will use the money for costs associated with travel and treatment of Bobby’s illness.
