Dolly passed peacefully to heaven Friday April 17, 2026 surrounded by family. She was born on January 28, 1939 to Margaret and Leslie Jarvis in Rhinelander, WI. She was married to Ronald C. Peterson (1932-2015) for 58 years and together they raised 2 children, James and Cindy.
Dolly had many friends. She made friends easily and loved to be the center of attention. She was always dressed to the nines, she wore the reddest lipstick and lots of “bling”; and in return, she received many compliments. She always wanted to be involved. She was always going somewhere to do something. She enjoyed working, shopping, traveling, socializing, taking care of people, cooking, gardening, snowmobiling, music, and participating in a variety of community events.
She worked as a waitress at the White Stag Supper Club in Sugar Camp, WI for most of her career of 30+ years. She also enjoyed various jobs after her semi-retirement from waitressing. She lived in Rhinelander, WI until 2018 when she moved to Wasilla, AK to be closer to family. She had a dry sense of humor, was quick with a retort when teased, could banter with the best of them, and always brought a smile.
She is survived by her son, James (Lynn) Peterson of Wasilla, AK, daughter, Cindy (Michael) Stylianos of Goldvein, VA, 4 grandchildren James Jr., Shane, Marcia, and Jason, 9 great-grandchildren and by her siblings, Dick of Franksville, WI and Joan Ruether of Rhinelander. WI, and many nieces and nephews.
