Hodah Highlights: RHS swim team celebrates successful season

The Rhinelander High School boys swim team held its end-of-season banquet March 3 at the Cedric A. Vig Outdoor Classroom (CAVOC). All 14 swimmers earned letters and all-conference honors at the conference meet held at Lakeland, won by the Hodags for the 8th year in a row. The team also won the sectional meet for the 8th year in a row. Ten of the swimmers traveled to Waukesha for the state meet. The Hodags placed 8th this year in a very competitive meet. There were no seniors on this year’s squad so the future is bright. Three of the boys, Dean Gillingham, Charlie Antonuk and Judson O’Malley, were honored with the Outstanding Swimmer Award. Gillingham was also named Swimmer of the Year in the conference and coach Jenny Heck is the Coach of the Year.
