Hodag Highlights: Track, Dome work continues

With the new school year, and fall prep season, fast approaching work continues on the amenities inside the Hodag Dome and the track at Mike Webster Stadium. The school board approved the projects, including resurfacing the outdoor track at Mike Webster Stadium, replacing the indoor track inside the rebuilt Hodag Dome with a higher-grade product, and repairing and recoating the dome’s indoor tennis courts, in the spring.
A higher-quality G13 track is being installed inside the Dome. The new G13 track uses a dense, gel-pour construction with color built into the material itself, eliminating the surface-paint wear The current Mike Webster Stadium was installed in 2015 and is approaching the end of its first recommended maintenance window, the school board was told. Without a timely respray, school officials said moisture can work beneath the surface, causing bubbling, cracking, and eventually the kind of damage that requires a full replacement at a much higher price.
