The Rhinelander High School softball team took on the Northland Pines Eagles twice last week and came out victorious in both contests. On Wednesday, the Hodags traveled to Eagle River and came back with a victory. On Thursday, Northland Pines made the trip to Rhinelander. Kendall Vanney was the starting pitcher and the Hodags gave up a run in the first inning, with an error helping the Eagles’ cause. In the bottom of the first, the Hodags scored 4 runs and would not allow another Eagles run in the five-inning game, as the Hodags scored 4 in the first, 1 in the second, 5 in the third and 4 in the fourth inning for the 14-1 win in 5 innings.
