Hodag Highlights: Hatchets cut down Hodag baseball 1-0

The Rhinelander High School baseball team suffered a close loss in Tomahawk Friday 1-0.
Conner Rappley started on the mound for the Hodags and gave up one run on two hits. That was enough for the Hatchets in the third inning as a walk, an infield hit and a double down the third base line scored the only run of the game. The Hodag’s Dylan Vanderbunt had a double and attempted to advance to third on a fly out to right field but a perfect relay and tag at third erased a chance for a run. In the 7th inning the Hodags got two more of their four hits but could not score a run as the final score was 1-0.
Rappley struck out 9, walked 5 and gave up the two hits in 5 innings.
Dylan Vanderbunt pitched the 6th inning for the Hodags.
