The fall season of high school sports began on Tuesday, August 4 as the first football practice of the year began at 4 p.m. Freshmen through seniors began the official practices without pads until Friday. Players must have 3 days of practice without pads before the pads can be used.
The annual Family Day event was held Saturday morning as the team practiced and parents were invited to the team meeting and position meetings. Parents were also able to participate in drills, which many did. At the end of practice parents and siblings were invited to tackle their sons and brothers and then a relay competition was held. A parent meeting was held and lunch was served.
The Hodags will start the season on the road at Ashland on August 2. The first home game of the season is Aug. 28 against Hayward.
