The Rhinelander High School baseball team erupted for 12 runs in the top of the first en route to winning on the road Tuesday against Northland Pines, 18-0, in five innings.
The Hodags’ Kurt Zuiker scattered three hits and gave up a walk while striking out seven over five innings in recording the pitching victory.
The Eagles’ Issac Haiduk started on the mound and lasted only a third of an inning when he picked up the loss, allowing seven runs, four earned, on two hits with four walks.
Of RHS’s nine total hits, Brad Quade recorded a pair of doubles and drove in five runs. Brandon Reinthaler and Bradley Comer each added a pair of singles with 4 RBI and 3 RBI, respectively. Easton Senoraske, Brandon Hess and Tait Spencer also singled for RHS.
The Hodags were error-free in the field, while the Eagles committed five errors over five innings.
The win evened RHS's record to 3-3 in the Great Northern Conference. Northland Pines dropped to 0-6 in the GNC.
