1969 – The Oneida County Daycare Program is founded by Fr. Brendan Kunda and housed in the Congregational Church in Rhinelander.
1973 – Money is raised to build a new structure on Timber Drive. Services are added for Forest and Vilas counties
1981 – Headwaters Regional Achievement Center, Inc. (HRAC) board of directors meets for the first time
1982 – HRAC begins operating Timber Lane apartments in Rhinelander, set up to serve people with disabilities and the elderly
1987 – HRAC renamed to Headwaters, Inc.
1997-98 – Licensed to run a school age program. Begins several contracts including bulk mailing and making and filling sheepskin dog toys for Drs. Foster & Smith pet supply company
2001 – Al Pascutti retires as director of Headwaters; Mary Hardtke is hired as his replacement
2006 – Confidential shredding business opens
2010-12 – Begins collaboration with Rhinelander High School and Nicolet College to offer classes at Nicolet for people with intellectual disabilities
2013 – Mary Hardtke retires; Jennifer Felty is hired as director of Headwaters
2016 – Begins offering services in Ashland
2017 – Begins transitioning to Family Care for funding for long-term care services
2019 – Celebrates 50 years with open house
