The Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Rhinelander has a new manager. Last week, Habitat for Humanity Northwoods officially announced the appointment of Chelsea Pooley as the store’s new manager. Pooley succeeds longtime manager Dennis Shimek who retired.
According to the release, Pooley steps into the role to oversee the “engine” that powers the organization’s mission of building affordable housing. She brings an extensive background in resale and a deep commitment to community impact, the release notes.
“I’ve always believed there’s something special about giving items a second life,” Pooley shared. “Habitat takes that further by turning everyday donations into opportunities that build safe, stable homes for families.”
Since relocating to Rhinelander in June 2025, Pooley has embraced the Northwoods lifestyle. A self-described “animal lover” with a household of seven pets—including three cats and two dogs—she is eager to deepen her connection to the area. Beyond the ReStore aisles, she enjoys baking, thrifting, and staying active with her family. As manager, Pooley’s focus is on growing community partnerships and supporting the dedicated volunteers who keep the shop running.
“Every donation and every purchase plays a part in supporting local families,” she noted.
The community is invited to visit the ReStore to meet Chelsea, browse the ever-changing inventory, or learn more about donation opportunities.
