The Rhinelander High School varsity girls volleyball team won three matches and lost three others last weekend when the Hodags finished 15th out of 22 teams in a two-day tournament at Wisconsin Dells.
In RHS’s four matches Friday, the Hodags fell to Kettle Moraine, 17-25, 21-25, and Green Bay Preble, 17-25, 18-25, before defeating Hustisford, 17-25, 25-16, 15-4, and Bruce, 25-18, 25-10.
RHS closed out the tournament Saturday losing in three games to Oshkosh North, 16-25, 25-15, 13-15, and then sweeping Hustisford, 25-15, 25-11.
The Hodags’ statistical leaders for the weekend included: Hope Wissbroecker, 74 kills, 11 service aces and 17 block kills; Ally Seefeldt, 94 assists; Stephanie Kuester, 11 service aces and 36 digs; Makayla Kuester, 42 digs; and Molly Wagler, 10 block kills.
RHS’s overall season match record stands at 5-3 going into Thursday’s Great Northern Conference opener at Medford.
