Girls basketball: Hodags top the Bluejays

In a non conference matchup the Merrill Bluejays were hosted by the Hodags Friday night. The Hodags put the full court pressure on the Bluejays forcing turnovers that led to easy baskets as the Hodags took a 34-15 half time lead.

The second half started the same way and shortly into the half coach Clark pulled the pressure back to half court. By the end of the half all the reserves saw considerable playing time as the Hodags matched their first half output and only allowed 12 Merrill points in the second for the 68-27 win.

Scoring in double digits for the Hodags were Annika Johnson with a game high 18 points, Audrey Schiek with 17 and Brynn Brzycki with 12. The next game for the Hodag girls is Friday night at Northland Pines.
