The Rhinelander High School varsity girls basketball team opened Great Northern Conference play on a losing note Friday when the Hodags fell at Northland Pines, 57-39.
Kaly Kostrova was the only RHS player to score in double figures with 14 points. Brooke Mork added six points with four other players scoring four points apiece.
The Hodags shot 16-48 (33.3 percent) from the field overall and went 7-13 (53.8 percent) from the free-throw line.
RHS, which is now 0-1 in the GNC and 1-3 overall, next hosts Ashland on Tuesday.
