The Rhinelander High School varsity girls basketball team led by 10 points at halftime and ended up winning Friday’s Great Northern Conference home game against Antigo, 66-53.
The Hodags had three players score in double figures led by Ally Seefeldt with a game-high 28 points. Kenedy Van Zile added 18 points with Brooke Mork scoring 10 more.
Though the Red Robins outshot RHS from the field overall, 23-51 (45.1 percent) to 20-55 (36.4 percent), and from 3-point range, 3-8 (37.5 percent) to 2-19 (10.5 percent), the game was decided at the free-throw line, where the Hodags shot 24-34 (70.6 percent), compared to 4-7 (57.1 percent) for Antigo.
The win improved RHS’s season record to 5-1 in the GNC and 8-5 overall going into Tuesday’s non-conference home game against Merrill.
