The School District of Rhinelander Community Education program is challenging community members to walk 100 miles in seven weeks. The Get Out and Walk challenge was introduced as a fun way to enjoy the outdoors.

“Doing much of anything has been a challenge during the COVID-19 pandemic, but getting outside and walking is an activity that most of us can do while being safe and distancing ourselves from others,” Community Ed coordinator Mike Cheslock stated in a release. “This is why the School District of Rhinelander is encouraging you, your family and friends to take part in this fun activity.”

Registration is due by Sunday, Sept. 13; the challenge runs Sept. 14-Nov. 1. Participants track their distance and log miles on the official mileage log available on the district’s website. Completed logs are emailed to Cheslock at cheslmik@rhinelander.k.12.wi.us. Everyone who completes the challenge will receive a t-shirt and is placed in a random drawing to win Chamber Bucks. The participation fee is $10 per person. Register online and pay with a debit or credit card here, or print the form, complete and mail it in with payment. Questions? Call 715-365-9745.
