Free shoreland owners workshop set for July 24

Posted

Shoreland property owners are invited to attend a free workshop from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24 at the Newbold Town Hall. The event aims to educate landowners on practices that protect and enhance lakefront property, organizers said in a press release.
The Shoreland Owners Workshop is hosted by the Northwoods Land Trust, the Oneida County Land & Water Conservation Department, and the Oneida County Lakes and Rivers Association.
Topics will include improving water quality, increasing property values, and creating diverse shoreline habitats that attract pollinators, fish and wildlife. The workshop will also cover permanent conservation options for shoreland and upland properties, along with resources and programs available for property owners and lake associations.
Although the workshop will focus on Oneida County waters, residents and visitors from other counties are welcome to attend. A free lunch and beverages will be provided.
