For the Star Journal

RHINELANDER – Trained and certified volunteers, through the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Program, will provide free 2021 federal and state income tax and Wisconsin homestead credit preparation including electronic filing. The target group for this service is people with low to moderate income, with a special emphasis for those 60 and over.

This service, provided at no cost, is available at the ADRC of Oneida County in Rhinelander, by appointment only, each Monday and Wednesday Feb. 14-April 6. Contact the ADRC of Oneida County office at 715-369-6170 to schedule an appointment.

The Rhinelander Tax-Aide site was forced to close due to COVID-19 in March 2020 and was not open for last year’s tax season. When available in past years, more than 500 returns were processed annually and more than one-third included a homestead tax credit.

There are also Tax-Aide sites in Eagle River and Minocqua.
