The Personal Essentials Pantry (PEP) will be open 9 a.m.-noon to serve clients, but with a few changes. Clients should drive through the carport at the First United Methodist Church in Rhinelander, using the entrance on the corner of Prospect Avenue and Wabash Street and remain in the vehicle. A volunteer will place pre-packaged supplies in trunk or back seat. The Personal Essentials Pantry offers personal and household hygiene supplies to families and individuals in need.

Thursday, April 30

The Table, a free meal program held the last day of each month, will be held this month with some changes. Rather than being served on site, take-out meals will be provided. Family meals may be picked up beginning at 5:30 p.m. at St. Augustine Episcopal Church in Rhinelander. Anyone wishing meal delivery should call the church office and leave a message before 3 p.m. 715-420-0066.

Miscellaneous

The Alzheimer’s Association, Wisconsin Chapter is offering free virtual programming, including care consultations, education programs and support groups to help Wisconsin caregivers and their families. Programming is available online and over the phone. For a complete list of programs or to register for a program, visit alz.org/crf. The Alzheimer’s Association’s free help line is available around the clock, 800-272-3900.

The Northern Regional Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs offers free help and assistance to parents and caregivers. Get help problem solving and locating resources and services available for children and youth with disabilities and special heath care needs through young adulthood.

The regional center has scheduled open conversation times available via the live video meeting service, Zoom. Times for dropping in, saying hello, asking a question are from 1-2 p.m. Wednesdays, 9:30-10:30 p.m. Saturdays and 2-3 p.m. Sundays. No appointment necessary. ArtStart Rhinelander is offering a free online tour of two new exhibits in its art galleries. Take a walk through of paintings by artists Daniel Flemming and Martin Rowe, or view detailed photos of the collections. Visit artstartrhinelander.org for a tour and more information.

The North Lakeland Discovery Center has launched a new “Discover on Demand” series. The once-a-week hour-long lectures will feature a variety of wildlife topics presented via video by a staff member. The programs will be made available for a range of prices, starting at $5. The Marywood Spirituality Center in Arbor Vitae will begin offering some programming via Zoom in May during the Safer-at-Home order. May 1 will feature the Death Cafe; registration is due April 27.
