STAR JOURNAL REPORT
Voters in Oneida County don’t have to wait until Nov. 8 to cast ballots in this year’s fall general election.
County clerk Mary Bartelt said early voting at municipal clerks’ offices throughout the county is being done weeks before Election Day to alleviate the anticipated long lines of voters waiting to cast ballots when there is a presidential election. She noted those days and times for early voting, for which eligible voters must have a valid photo ID with them, vary by municipality.
In the city of Rhinelander, early voting begins Sept. 30 at City Hall and runs through Nov. 4. The city clerk’s office where voters may cast absentee votes in person will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
