Driver in Cassian crash facing felony charges

Posted

Two felony and several misdemeanor charges have been filed against a 50-year-old Hazelhurst woman involved in a two-vehicle crash last month in the Town of Cassian that sent multiple people to the hospital.
According to court records, a criminal complaint was filed on June 20 charging Holly S. Wilson with OWI (7th, 8th or 9th, with a passenger less than 16 years old) and possession of methamphetamine (second or subsequent offense).
Wilson is also facing four misdemeanor charges: operating while revoked, possession of controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and failure to install an ignition interlock device.
According to the criminal complaint, the accident happened on June 9 at the intersection of County Highway K and Harshaw Road. Witnesses reported that the vehicle Wilson was operating collided with another vehicle after it failed to stop at a stop sign, the complaint states. The occupants of the other vehicle were transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
A 3-year-old child who was a passenger in Wilson’s vehicle was also taken to the hospital to be evaluated.

Wilson made her initial appearance in Oneida County Circuit Court on June 20. Judge Mary Sowinski set bail at $100,000 cash.
Court records indicate Wilson was on probation at the time of the accident and the Department of Corrections may seek revocation.
She is due back in court in August.
