With the school year about to end, the Rhinelander District Library has announced its summer programming for kids starting with an introduction to paleontology at 1 p.m. June 8 in the library meeting room. Kids will step back in time through interaction with hands-on fossils and models of T-rex and its family, according to a library press release. This event, which blends fun stories and activities with learning, is for children age 5 and up.
The animal-focused fun will continue at 1 p.m. June 17 when representatives from the North Lakeland Discovery Center hold a reptile program. They will be bringing some slimy/scaly friends with them for children to meet.
This program is for school-aged kids 5 and up. Finally, from 1-4 p.m. June 30, local origami expert Mike Miller will be helping kids to make paper dino creations. Come anytime during the timeframe. Parent presence is requested for extra help. This event is also for children age 5 and up.
The library’s weekly Baby Storytime will also continue throughout the summer but the Builder’s Club will be taking a break until fall. There will be an Outside Storytime at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays on the library lawn. Bring a blanket for stories, songs, flannels and fun.
All Rhinelander District Library Programs are free and open to the public.
