Editor:
I would like to thank June Thiel of the Rhinelander Historical Society who called me to clarify that there are two groups in Rhinelander that are focused on our past (Viewpoint, Dec. 11). June stated that they are separate and not attached.
The Rhinelander Historical Society is a non-profit organization that promotes and encourages historical preservation. June stated that the staff is made up of volunteers. June said that they function through the use of donations, and they maintain and display the Historical Museum House on Pelham and then the Logging Museum and all that it encompasses. The other group that will be involved with the building permit process for the City of Rhinelander is the Rhinelander Preservation Commission.
I would like to thank June and the Rhinelander Historical Society for making a pleasant awareness and an insight into our past.
Craig Strid, Rhinelander
