Car crash Saturday claims one life

An Irma man died Saturday and a Rhinelander woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday on US 8 at County HWY N in Oneida County.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, James T. Reichelt, 31, was traveling westbound on US 8 when he drove onto the north shoulder, over-corrected, and slide sideways into the path of an eastbound vehicle driven by Lila Cirilla, 87, of Rhinelander. The accident occurred at 5:42 p.m.

Reichelt, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Cirilli was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
