BOYS SWIMMING: Hodags drop GNC dual at LUHS, 105-60

After no first-place finishes and ending up runner-up in nine of the 11 varsity events, the Rhinelander High School boys swimming team lost Thursday’s Great Northern Conference dual meet at Lakeland Union High School, 105-60.

In addition to placing second in all three relays, the Hodags’ individual runner-up finishers included: David King, 200-yard individual medley (2 minutes, 19.15 seconds) and 100 butterfly (58.66); Russell Benoy, 50 freestyle (23.74) and 100 freestyle (53.52); Martin Hoger, 100 backstroke (1:03.99); and Thaddeus Heck, 100 breaststroke (1:06.87).

RHS’s GNC dual meet record stands at 2-3 going into next Thursday’s home conference meet against Tomahawk.
