Boys Basketball: Hodags lose home opener

The Rhinelander boys hosted a non-conference opponent Marathon in the home opener Tuesday night. The boys were looking to continue the momentum from their first game win of the season against Wausau East last Friday.

Marathon opened up a lead in the opening minutes that the team could not overcome. The half time score was 25-30 in favor of Marathon and the final score was 52-66, for the Hodags first loss of the season.

Jacksen Smith led all scorers with 24 points followed by Ross Skeen with 13 and Quinn Lamers with nine. Kirk Mathews, Jackson Labs and Caleb Olcikas each scored two for the Hodags. Photos by Bob Mainhardt.
