BOYS BASKETBALL: Hodags lead big early, down Warriors

In the battle of two head-coaching brothers Thursday night, Derek Lemmens came out on top of Nate Lemmens.

The Rhinelander High School varsity boys basketball team jumped out to a 19-point halftime lead and ended up winning in non-conference action at home against Wausau West, 57-37.

The Hodags’ Owen White recorded a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds.  Junior Howard also scored in double figures with 12 points.

RHS shot 20-49 (40.8 percent) from the field overall, 6-21 (28.6 percent from 3-point range and 11-16 (68.8 percent) from the free-throw line.

The Hodags improved their overall season record to 6-1 going into another non-conference home game Dec. 29 against Waupaca.
