As a hunter and a gatherer, Franzen had the perfect job with the US Forest Service which he retired from in 2001. Being a woodsman, Franzen would often forage for wild mushrooms and berries plus enjoyed the sport of hunting deer and grouse.
Today, Franzen finds the art of wildlife photography much more rewarding and an experience he enjoys sharing. In his yard, Franzen has identified 105 species of birds which he has photographed and curated into a self-published book entitled, “Gone to the Birds.”
Franzen will share with us a catalogue of more than 300 slides featuring bird behavior, some of which had never before been photographed and documented.
For more information about the sport of bird watching or to share experiences and knowledge with others, or to develop birding skills, new members are always welcome. The public is invited to this presentation.
