Another record broken as Hodag swimmers win again

The Hodag swim team honored its three seniors, Lisa Kennedy, Makenna Winnicki and Julia Burke, Thursday evening.

Medford came to town to attempt to ruin the Hodags run of winning every event in every meet so far this season. The closest they would come is placing second in four events in the Hodags’ 128-42 win.

The girls swept two of the eight individual events – the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle. Another record fell, this time it was the 200-yard freestyle relay with Noelle St.Pierre, Malia Frances, Abi and Makenna Winnicki breaking it in a time of 1:42.68. The 1993 record was beaten by .02 seconds. Next Thursday the team travels to Ladysmith and then hosts Antigo and Mosinee the following Thursdays to finish the conference schedule.
