Services planned for assistant fire chief
Funeral arrangements have been set for Rhinelander Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Daniel Bauer. Bauer, 42, died Nov. 2 following a heart attack.
He served for nearly 19 years as a firefighter and paramedic.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14, beginning at 9:30 a.m. with the memorial service beginning at noon. It will take place at Pine Grove Community Church, 1360 N. Stevens Street. According to Fire Chief Brian Tonnancour, the department is planning a full Fire Service Memorial with Honors.
A procession to Northland Memorial Park Cemetery will follow.
“We would like to thank the community and the media for the outpouring of support and respect for Rhinelander Fire Department and assistant chief Bauer’s family as we redefine our lives without Dan in them,” Tonnancour wrote in a press release
Bauer is survived by his wife and four children. A memorial fund has been set up by the Fire Department at Peoples State Bank in Rhinelander; additionally donations to a college fund for each of the four children may also be made at Peoples State Bank.
