Lots to do at the library open house
For the Star Journal
The Rhinelander District Library is hosting its third annual Fall Open House Tuesday, Sept. 17, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. This is also a celebration of Library Card Signup Month. All new library card registrations will receive a coupon to the Friends of the Library Re-Tale Shop. New adult registrations will be entered in a drawing.
Join the library staff starting at 9 a.m. for a morning coffee house with coffee drinks, scones and music. Learning Fun for Preschoolers for littles and caregivers begins at 10 a.m.
There are all kinds of things happening at the open house. Learn about RDL’s renovation and expansion project, find out and explore library programs, services, and new Things in the Library of Things, including demos. Tell your library or Northwoods story to RDL’s oral history project, “If these Woods Could Talk.”
Friends of the Library Re-Tale Book Shop will be open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. with September sales on cookbooks, hunting and fishing, and sports. All proceeds go to the Rhinelander District Library.
Activities in the children’s department begin in the afternoon. Outdoor games will be available for checkout (weather permitting) for all ages and be sure to visit the seasonal photo station.
Lola’s Lunchbox will be on site and will have lunch and dinner items available for purchase 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
