The Lincoln County Sheriff’s office has confirmed that George Rouman, 51 of Rhinelander, was killed in a two-vehicle crash on US 51 around 11 p.m. Sunday night.
Rouman was the owner and president of the Rouman Amusement Company in Rhinelander and owner of the Fun Factory Sweet Shoppe downtown Rhinelander.
According to law enforcement, Alexia C. Zuk, 20 of Crandon, was traveling south on US 51 when she lost control of her SUV, went through the median and was struck by the northbound utility van driven by Rouman. Zuk was extricated from her vehicle, flown to Aspirus Wausau Hospital, treated and released.
Rouman reportedly sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The Rouman Cinema Facebook page is filled with tributes to George Rouman and the Rouman family that has been a part of the entertainment scene in Rhinelander since 1921. The cinema, which has been closed since the accident, will reopen Friday, June 14.
