HCPA Presents: Troupe Vertigo
For the Star Journal
Tickets are on sale now for the Troupe Vertigo show at Northland Pines High School auditorium Saturday, April 29. Presented by Headwaters Council for the Performing Arts, the Troupe Vertigo’s performance features artistic and physical theatrics that entertain both young and old.
Local performers the Woodland Strings will also be performing in the gathering space prior to the show from 6:45 -7:15 p.m.
Fusing together elements of cirque acrobatics consisting of world-class aerial artists, contortionists and ballet dancers, Troupe Vertigo leads its audience on a poetic and visually enticing journey.
In addition, HCPA is offering a unique opportunity for young people under the ages of 18, who have an interest in dance, gymnastics, cheerleading, tumbling or acrobatics, to participate in a special 45-minute outreach program from 5-6 p.m., prior to the show. Participants will take part in a “talk-back” session, meeting with troupe performers to learn about their backgrounds in dance, gymnastics, or ballet. They will also hear about the performer’s experiences working with the aerial stage equipment. The session will end with a question-and-answer time. There is no charge for the outreach program participants and HCPA is offering a discounted adult ticket ($25) for any parent who accompanies their child to the performance after the outreach program.
Individual tickets for the show are $30 and may be purchased at Eagle River Roasters, 339 W. Pine Street in Eagle River, or at the door beginning at 6:30 p.m. All seats are reserved seating. Note: The show will be a shortened event (70 minutes) due to the complexity of the acrobatic moves and stage equipment involved.
