RHINELANDER – With the weather still not cooperating, Hodag softball hosted Lakeland in the dome, followed by the soccer girls hosting Antigo. Both games were supposed to be away for the Hodags but with the white stuff still on the ground the locations for the games were switched.
The Hodag softball girls began the game scoring two runs in the bottom of the first even with the T-Bird ace Saylor Timmerman striking out five in the inning. Passed balls and errors assisted the Hodags scoring the two runs. The Hodags were able to get runners on base but were unable to score again and Lakeland scored their six runs in the fifth. Timmerman struck out 19 Hodags in the game with each Hodag striking out at least twice and did not issue a walk.
Addi DeMeyer pitched for the Hodags and struck out 11 but had nine walks, giving up six runs; three of them earned. Maddi Roeser, Nora Rutkowski and Laney Haenel each singled for the Hodags. Bob Mainhardt photos

The soccer girls scored early and did not let up, taking an 8-0 lead at the half and then added three more in the second half to end the game at the 60 minute mark via the mercy rule.
Ava Lamers scored the first goal of the game and had four by the end of it. Sophie Miljevich and Leah Weigel each scored two with one of Weigel’s coming off a corner kick the Antigo keeper could not handle. Leah Jamison, Neveah Rappley and Morgan VanZile each scored a goal.
The Hodags had 22 shots on goal with half of them going into the net while Antigo did not have a shot on goal. Mya Krouze played in goal until the 51 minute mark and Emalee Detienne was in net for the last nine minutes. Bob Mainhardt photos
