Two Rhinelander High School power lifters competed at the state tournament in Appleton March 4-5. Tyler Morrison placed 15th out of 24 and Abigail Johnson took 25th out of 42 lifters in their respective weight classes. Scoring is based on the combine weights lifted in the squat, bench and dead lift. Morrison’s total was 1,091 pounds (495 kg) and Johnson’s total was 551 pounds (250 kg).
The Hodag power lifting team is in its first year and is coached by Drake Biolo.
