Hodag basketball highlights

Both the Lakeland girls and boys basketball teams came to the Rhinelander High School gym for a double header. The girls played first against the conference leading Thunderbirds.

Lakeland led throughout the game with a 46-16 lead at the half and won the game with a 77-48 score. Lakeland’s Julianna Ouimette led all scorers with 21 points. The Hodags’ Lillian Treder scored 20 on four three-point shots and four field goals to lead the Hodags. Leah Jamison scored 15 on five three-point makes.  Bob Mainhardt photos.

Lillian Treder follows through on a three-point shot. Treder led the Hodags with four three-point makes and four field goals.
Ava Lamers has her shot blocked by Saylor Timmerman. Lamers scored seven points.

The Hodag boys copied the Thunderbird girls and led the game throughout but not as easily as the Lakeland girls team. The halftime score was 33-16 as the boys came out making shots while Lakeland was not making theirs. The Hodags led by as much as 22-10, but Lakeland went on an 11-0 run to close the gap.

The Hodags prevailed with the 68-57 win.  Will Gretzinger led the Hodags with 19 points, while also in double digits were Kyle Brown 13, James Heck 11 and Kaleb Winter scoring 10. Bob Mainhardt photos.

Jordan LeGere scored six first half points and added two in the second half.
Kaleb Winter with a floater in the lane fortwo of his 10 points. Winter scored two field goals and was 6-for-6 from the free throw line.

Kyle Brown brings the ball up court. Brown scored 13 points for the Hodags.
Will Gretzinger shoots a three-point shot for three of his 19 points.
