Northwoods National Cemetery in Harshaw was one of more than 3,700 participating locations where wreaths were placed as part of Wreaths Across America Day Dec. 17.
A ceremony began at 11 a.m., followed by wreath laying at 11:30 a.m. Girl Scouts, the American Legion Riders, District 11, Northwoods Honor Guard, veterans and volunteers worked together to “Remember the fallen, honor those who serve and teach children the value of freedom.”
In Harshaw, 260 wreaths were sponsored, exceeding the local goal by 105 wreaths. For more information, visit wreathsacrossamerica.org.
