Hodag Highlights
SWIMMING
Thursday night the Hodag boys swim team had its first conference meet at Tomahawk. Senior Charlie Heck was ill, leaving the team with only nine swimmers bit it did not matter as the Hodags won all three relays and eight individual events to defeat the Hatchets 108-40.
HOCKEY
Hodag boys hockey hosted their first game at the RIA Thursday night against the Tomahawk Hatchets. Johnny Turek started in goal for Rhinelander and gave up three goals on Tomahawk’s first three shots on goal.
The Hodags scored two in the first to go into the second period down by a goal. The Hodags then played more aggressively and smarter in the second period and scored six goals to go into the third period up 8-3. The Hodags would give up one goal in the third to make the final score 8-4.
WRESTLING
Rhinelander wrestling opened the season at the John Roberts invitational in Antigo on Saturday. The Hodag boys placed 16th out of 19 teams with sophomore Sean Boman recording the top finish for the team in 4th place.
On the girls side, sisters senior Abby and Mya Swanson, a freshman, placed second and third respectively.
