Thomas W. Neidlein, age 79, passed away October 26, 2022, at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He was a summertime resident of the Tomahawk, Wisconsin, area.

Tom was born October 30, 1942, in Spencer, to the late John T. and Armella (Straub) Neidlein.  He proudly served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1967 where he was a member of the Special Forces and served tours in Vietnam from 1966 to1967. He married Karen Schweiss in 1967 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer.  After graduating from Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a degree in accounting, he moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, where he worked for 3M for nearly 30 years.  He retired in 1996 and split time between residences in Las Vegas and on Manson Lake near Tomahawk.

Tom will be missed by many friends and family. He enjoyed playing cards, hiking, spending time at their former cabin in the Pier-Willow area, watching the Badgers and Packers, and keeping up with his grandsons.

Tom is survived by two sons, Thomas “TJ” (Amy) Neidlein, of Oswego, IL, and Paul (Tina) Neidlein, of Prairie Village, KS; three grandsons, Thomas “Tommy”, Ty, and Erik; a brother Richard (Karen) Neidlein and a sister, Barbara (Darwin) Tysver.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Karen; parents, John and Armella; sister, Mary Link; and brothers, John “Jack” and William.

The family will be celebrating the life of Thomas Neidlein with a service at Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer, Saturday, Nov. 26, at 1 p.m.  It will be followed immediately by a reception with food and drinks a short walk away at 103 E. Clark Street in Spencer.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice in his name.
