Dale Raymond Statz, age 62 of rural Harshaw, passed away Oct. 12, 2022, with his loving family by his side after a tenacious battle with cancer.

Dale was born Sept. 10, 1960, to Edward and Donna (Hanson) Statz in Madison. After graduation from Middleton High School, Dale earned a second all team conference honor in football at UW-La Crosse. Dale continued to live and work in the Cross Plaines, Madison area. After meeting the love of his life Pam, they bought and created their dream home in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Their profound love for one another was second to none. Dale found the most joy spending time with Pam and their families and friends. Those who knew him could attest to his ever-present sense of humor. Dale always was a caregiver and put the needs of Pam and others before his own.

Dale was a great outdoorsman. He was always eager for the next hike, kayak trip or just relaxing and watching the birds and other wildlife around his home. He was always putting his handyman skills to use while listening to his pre-1990’s music. Let’s not forget his love of old silent movies.

In addition to his fiancé Pam, Dale is survived by his cherished son, Dylan; mother, Donna; brothers, Gary (Nancy), John; sister, Robin; niece, and nephews; stepchildren, Chad, Keith, Ashley (Dan); his grandchildren, Colton, Trey, Oliver and Faith; the Albin Chitko family and many good friends, with a special shout out to his hunting and card playing buddies. He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his father, Edward; sister, Cheryl and brother-in-law, Jack.

A celebration of Dale’s life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hildebrand Funeral Home & Cremation Specialists, 24 E. Davenport Street, Rhinelander, Wisconsin, 54501, 715-365-4343. Everyone is invited to sign the guestbook or leave an online condolence at www.hildebrandrussfh.com
