Football at Mike Webster Stadium means fall is just around the corner. The team held its annual Green/White scrimmage event last weekend. Players took snaps in their positions on both offense and defense as play began at the 40-yard line and continued until the offense scored or the defense stopped the offense on fourth down, or committed a turnover.

Play was done without full pads in what is called “thud,” where the tackle is called when initial contact is made by the defense. Full contact began Aug. 8 in full pads. Photos by Bob Mainhardt.

Junior quarterback James Heck hands the ball off to senior Carter Krueger.
Senior center Conner Jensen blocks fellow senior David Fielhauer during a pass play.
Senior Kaleb Winter grabs a pass while being pursued by Dylan Vanderbunt.
Sophomore Reid Schultz put in some time at center.
Kaden Vanney turns up field after intercepting a pass.
Truman Lamers tosses a ball to his mother Kersti in the end zone to win the player-mom football player 100-yard relay.
