Spend Independence Day in the Northwoods
St. Germain: Celebrate on Sunday, July 3. Start with the Freedom 5K Run/Walk, then enjoy a craft and vendor fair, kids rides, games live entertainment, food and parade at 3 p.m. Fireworks at dusk.
Harshaw: Friday, July 1, Red, White and Boom. Rondele Ranch. Gates open at 5:30. Live music by Vic Ferrari Band, food vendors, beverages for purchase, caracatures, face painting and more. Fireworks at dusk. $10/person admission with proceeds benefiting the Oneida County Humane Society.
Boulder Junction: The Star Spangled Jubilee kicks off with the parade down Main Street at noon, the Lions Club food tent 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and fireworks display at dusk at the airport.
Conover: Enjoy the parade, then head to the town park for a picnic with food, refreshments, music, kids games and a dunk tank. Head over to Lake Pleasant at 7 p.m. for a festive Chain Skimmers Water Ski Show.
Eagle River: Party in the Street Fourth of July celebration 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Music, expanded beer garden, food, kids activities. Parade 10:30 a.m., special Chain Skimmers Water Ski Show 7-8 p.m. on Lake Pleasant, fireworks at the fairgrounds 9:45-10:30 p.m.
Lake Tomahawk: Parade at 2:30 p.m., kids parade registration at 1:30 p.m. at Bear Foot Park; Snowshoe Baseball at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks after the game.
Land O’Lakes: Sunday, July 3 celebration, 5:30-11 p.m. with music, food and fun for the whole family. Festivities begin at Gateway Lodge. Fireworks at the Land O’Lakes Airport 10:15-11 p.m. The parade is at noon, July 4.
Manitowish Waters: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., activities at the community center, food, drinks live music. Parade downtown at 1 p.m., Music in the Park 3-6 p.m. at Koller Park, Skiing Skeeter Show at Rest Lake Park at 7 p.m. Complete the celebration with fireworks over Rest Lake beginning at 9:45 p.m.
Mercer: Parade starts at 11 a.m., followed by fun in the park 3-6 p.m.; fireworks at dusk.
Minocqua: Kiddie Parade 3:45 p.m. near Redman Realty; main parade downtown at 4 p.m., Min-Aqua Bats water ski show 7 p.m. and fireworks over Lake Minocqua at dusk.
Rhinelander: Annual parade at 11 a.m., beginning at the police station and headed south on Brown Street. This year’s theme is “Rally Around the Flag.” The kiddie parade begins 10 a.m. Fireworks will once again take place over Boom Lake by Hodag Park at dusk.
Sayner: A fun-filled day of festivities starting with the Plum Lake Fire Department’s annual chicken barbeque at noon, followed by the parade at 3 p.m. and fireworks at dusk.
Three Lakes: Celebrating its 70th year. Pancake breakfast 7-11 a.m. at Three Lakes High School, used book sale at Demmer Library 9 a.m.- noon, Fourth of July parade at 9 a.m. – Theme is “Red, White and Blue Jays” – followed by festivities at Don Burnside Park with fireworks at dusk. Parade entries should be in the high school parking lot by 8:45 a.m.
Tomahawk: July Fourth Pow Wow Days. 5K/10K runs take off from Veterans Memorial Park at 8:30 a.m.; Lions Club food and refreshments beginning at 11 a.m. on Main Street; Lions chicken barbeque 10 a.m., parade 1 p.m. followed by the fire department water demonstration, Kwahamot water ski show at 8 p.m. and fireworks at dusk – Sara Park or Kwahamot Bay.
