Last week the Hodags hosted Wausau East in a regional semi-final soccer game. In April the Hodags defeated East 5-1. The Hodags equalled that score in the first half as the home team held a 5-0 advantage at the break. The girls came out strong in the second half scoring five more goals, ending the game according to the mercy rule with 12:05 remaining and holding a 10-0 advantage.
Sophia Miljevich scored the first two goals 80 seconds apart in the first half and would add another later in the half. Megan Brown came over from the track team and played and scored a goal in the first half as she replaced her sister McKenna who was sitting out with an injured ankle. Audrey Schiek would also score in the first to give the Hodags the 5-0 lead.
In the second half both Ava Lamers and Miljevich would score two goals and Leah Jamison would also add one in the half. Lamers would score the 10th and final goal of the game to end it.

Sophie Miljevich delivers the ball past the Wausau East goalie for one of her five goals on the night.
Ava Lamers, in the middle of the East players, gets off a shot and scores for the 10th Hodag goal with 12:05 remaining, ending the contest via the mercy rule.
Maria Heck waits for the loose ball late in the first half. East did not register a shot on goal, so Heck recorded zero saves for the game.
Megan Brown is picked up off her feet by Ava Lamers after Brown scored in the first half giving the Hodags a 5-0 lead. This was Brown’s first game of the season as she was in track during the spring season.
